FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions:

Q : What is the maximum supported number of indoor monitor and outdoor camera units in a system?
A : For a closed system, the maximum number of indoor monitors and outdoor cameras that can be connected
are
8 and 2 respectively. Please kindly refer to our store for all available packages.

Q : How long are the wires between the indoor monitor and the outdoor camera?
A : The maximum distance between the door camera and monitor depends on the quality of the cables you use.
Normally, in order to maintain the quality of the image and audio signals the following guidelines apply:
- for 0.5mm^2 cables: can have a distance up to 100m.
- for 0.65mm^2 cables: can have a distance up to 200m.

Q : Can I use CAT5 or CAT5E cables as extension cables?
A : Yes, you can.

Q : How long can the wires between indoor monitors be?
A : The maximum distance between indoor monitors depends on the quality of cables that are used.
Normally, in order to maintain the quality of the image and audio, for a 0.3mm^2 cable, it can have a length of up to 50m.

Q : Am I able to communicate with another connected monitor on the same system?
A : You can just press the "Talk" button on your monitor, and you will be connected to the other monitors.
However, please note that you will only receive audio signal, but not video signal since there is no camera on monitors.

Q : Can I monitor the live camera stream on the indoor monitor at any time?
A : Yes, you can just press the "Monitor" button on your monitor to see the live camera stream.

Q : The wire included in the package is not long enough for me to connect the device.
How can I connect the device to my desired configuration? And what should I do if I want to extend the length of the connection cable?

A :The package just includes the basic connection cables due to different households requiring different lengths of cables. Extension cables suitable for your budget and requirements can be used in order to set up your device. You can just connect the extension cable to bridge the two ends of the included connection wires

Q : (For packages with 2 outdoor cameraas and 2 or more indoor monitors only) The provided 8-pin cables are divided into two separate sets of 4-pin cables, why is that? Does it mean I need to connect two extension cables with them separately?
A :Yes, please use two separate extension cables to separately connect those two sets of 4-pin cables. Otherwise, those cables will be interfering with each other and thus the video / audio signals will be affected.

Q : Which kind of electric bolt lock is compatible with this video door phone?
A : This video door phone is compatible with 12V to 14V electric bolt locks with a current input of less than or equal to 1.5A. Please kindly note that the electrical bolt lock is not included in this package.

Q : How can I control the door unlocking time? Can I make the setting directly on the indoor or outdoor unit?
A : No, you cannot control the unlocking time on neither units. Actually, no matter you are using a NO or NC mode electric lock, you must use an appropriate power supply for access control in order to powering up the lock. And you can ONLY control the unlocking time with that power supply. This item is available for sale, please search for "power supply for access control" in our store

Q : How can I enable the "Do Not Disturb" mode?
A : You can press and hold the "Talk" button for 2 seconds, until the red light flashes to confirm that you have entered the "Do Not Disturb" mode. You will not receive any audio alerts but still receive video alerts when someone has rung the doorbell.
